Our Club, chartered in 1954, is one of 35,000 Clubs worldwide with a total membership of 1.2 million men and women.
Rotary’s core purpose is to provide humanitarian service, to advance peace and goodwill. It is non political, non religious and open to all.
Rotarians often describe themselves as people who like to contribute to the wellbeing of their community and have fun and fellowship while engaging in it.
Our members enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of weekly meetings, usually with a guest speaker.
- The Club currently supports youth projects such as Rotary Youth Leadership, Peer Support Programmes, Overseas Exchanges and Summer Science Schools.
- The Club has engaged in projects to supply items such as milk powder, clothes, machinery, hand and electric tools, school books and water tanks to Fiji, Tonga and the Solomon Islands.
- Major local projects have included the Raglan Fishing Contest, Rotoart Exhibition, Fit for Life Relay, Vocational Excellence Award and the Gallagher Rotary Trades Award Evening.
- Our 2021 community outreach continues to focus on youth support, the Mayor’s annual address, the Trades Awards Night, support of community appeals and community projects as they arise.
